World of Warcraft adds a limitation to Follower Dungeons, a feature in Patch 10.2.5, Seeds of Renewal, that lets players enter instances with NPCs.

Highlights

World of Warcraft Patch 10.2.5 introduces Follower Dungeons soon, but the feature will have a daily limit of 10 instances per account, likely to prevent abuse and server overload.

Some players are unhappy with this limitation as it limits their dungeon gameplay, but the restriction may be adjusted in the future.

Despite the limit, players still have on average around five hours of Follower Dungeon time each day, and there are other activities to try in the new patch.

The new Follower Dungeons feature in World of Warcraft Patch 10.2.5, Seeds of Renewal, will have a daily limit of 10 instances per account. This limit is ostensibly being created to prevent the new feature from being abused and the servers from being overloaded, all while fighting bots in World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft is introducing Follower Dungeons in Patch 10.2.5, which releases on January 16. This new feature allows players to enter Normal difficulty Dragonflight dungeons with a team of popular World of Warcraft NPCs, letting them avoid long queue times, try out new roles and specializations, and clear these instances at their own pace.

However, a few days before the new content update, World of Warcraft community manager Bornakk announced on the forum that each player will have a limit of 10 Follower Dungeons per day. An instance will count towards this number as soon as it is created using the Follower Dungeon interface in the group finder, and the limit is account wide. All other non-Follower Dungeon instances will be unaffected by this new restriction.

WoW Fans Can Only Do 10 Follower Dungeons Each Day

This precautionary measure is being implemented to “help ensure a smooth experience for all players,” likely to prevent people from abusing the feature, to avoid overloading the servers with abundant Follower Dungeons, and to fight back against bots who might try to farm gold by clearing World of Warcraft dungeons with NPCs. The limit is also not necessarily permanent, as World of Warcraft confirmed it would be monitoring the restriction, and may adjust it in the future.

Some players aren’t happy about this limitation. They think it defeats the point of the new feature, and that they will blow through their daily stipend of dungeons very quickly. Fans are understandably frustrated when anti-botting measures affect them, so many hope the daily limit for Follower Dungeons in World of Warcraft is increased sooner rather than later.

That said, this new feature changes the way certain dungeons can be completed, so it makes sense that World of Warcraft is being cautious. Fans would likely be more frustrated if the servers were unable to handle Follower Dungeons, or if a limit was added after the fact due to abuse and botting. With an average runtime of about 30 minutes per dungeon, players will still have around five to six hours of Follower Dungeon time each day, so most fans will probably never even reach the daily limit. If they do, players can always try out other activities, like the new Azerothian Archives public event coming in the same World of Warcraft patch.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and is the ninth expansion pack for the iconic massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft.Dragonflight features an overhauled user interface, raises the level cap to 70, and introduces a new race and class.
