A God of War fan has shared their design concept of what the normally bare-headed protagonist Kratos would look like with headgear. God of War fans love to create alternate looks for Kratos, especially since the modern games have made it possible for the character to wear different attires.
God of War Ragnarok, the latest game in the series, is still going strong after first releasing on the PlayStation 5 back in November 2022. In the game, Kratos is able to have Dwarven blacksmith brothers Sindri and Brok forge new sets of armor for him by bringing them materials to craft with. However, headgear is not an option for Kratos, as he can only equip chestplates, gauntlets, and waistguards.
What Would Kratos Look Like With Visible Headgear?
Redditor PatFury shared their custom design of Kratos with headgear on the God of War subreddit, using a traditional-style Greek hoplite helmet. Paired with the Draupnir Spear that is acquired in God of War Ragnarok and a shield, Kratos looks like a proper Greek soldier, giving him an entirely new look, which some have commented resembles his magical Spartan Armor when he would become enraged in the very first game. Kratos has traditionally never been depicted with any headwear, perhaps to firmly establish his face and trademark bald appearance.
After Valhalla's release to close out 2023, it seems as though there may not be any new major God of War content to drop in 2024. There might be announcements coming for future entries in the series, but that may be it for now as Sony gears up for its next big move in the franchise.
