Released in 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons tasks players with developing an abandoned island into their dream settlement. Many players of the hit Nintendo Switch exclusive have spent countless hours designing their islands, and a lot of that time was spent on building custom houses for the title's hundreds of unique villagers. One Animal Crossing: New Horizons player created a charming home for Dotty, a peppy villager that has been in the series since the very first Animal Crossing from 2001.

Reddit user Teriin shared their lovely vacation home for Dotty via a recent post on the site. Screenshots of the project showed that the outside of the residence featured bright flora and several rabbit-themed items, while the interior sported simple yet charming furniture. Community members complimented the vacation home Teriin created, calling the house amazing, beautiful, and cute. Teriin said they used custom Animal Crossing: New Horizons patterns in designing Dotty's home, specifically for the flooring.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are not limited to just creating houses in the game, and many have used the freedom the title provides to build all sorts of structures. One player, a Reddit user who goes by the name dreaming_of_utopia, created a pizzeria in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, complete with brick walls, ovens, and, of course, delicious-looking Italian flat bread topped with tomato sauce and cheese.

Another fan, a Redditor named dollisbaby, was seemingly swept up in the holiday spirit last December as they ended up creating a Christmas market on their Animal Crossing: New Horizons island. The rustic market, which used tones of brown, gold, green, and red, featured Christmas trees, candles, gift boxes, wreaths, and snow globes, among other things. Fellow Animal Crossing: New Horizons players praised dollisbaby's festive town, with many describing it as being beautiful and pretty.

Dotty is far from being the most popular villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but she still fits in well on most islands.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the fifth major game in the Animal Crossing series. This slice-of-life simulation game tasks the player with developing an abandoned island into a small town for its resident villagers. The game was released at the start of worldwide lockdowns amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which catapulted it into massive success. It's currently the best selling game of all time in Japan.
