A creative player on the Sims 4 builds a stunning early 20th-century mansion based on the American “Gilded Age” within the game.
A Sims 4 player has created an impressive mansion within the game, featuring multiple stories and extravagant designs inspired by the American "Gilded Age." Since the release of the newest entry in the beloved life simulation franchise, developer Maxis has added plenty of new tools for players to build their dream homes and lives within the game. The Sims 4 has featured 15 expansion packs, introducing a variety of new ways to play the game, as well as multiple smaller "game packs." Now, one fan has created an impressive homage to American opulence.
The Sims 4 has been no stranger to stunning creations within the game, between the freedom allowed by The Sims 4's character creation engine and its buildings. Players have used the in-game character creator to imagine everything from re-creations of video game characters like Diablo 4's Lilith to real-life celebrities like Kim Kardashian. The game's build mode also allows for a variety of unique homes, including upside-down houses and even the iconic homes from SpongeBob SquarePants. Now, one player has crafted a decadent mansion paying tribute to early 1900s America.
Reddit user Gas434 showed off their decadent mansion on the Sims subreddit, giving fans a tour of the 1900s-style home. The building features two main floors with multiple parlours and entertainment rooms situated on the first floor, with the bedrooms for the home's Sims on the second floor. The build also features a fully open attic space, with the creator suggesting it could be used as an "atelier" by an artist. The post gives a closer look inside each of the rooms as well, showing off the lavish carpets, chandeliers in nearly every room, and stunning furnishings.

In the replies of the post, the user also shared a bit of their thought process behind the build, as well as some "lore" for the house. The home was designed to be built in the late 1800s after a fire destroyed a colonial manor, suggesting that parts of the home may be haunted. Fans in the comments suggested that the house has the feel of the game's notorious Landgraab family, a wealthy family that has been a staple of the franchise. The creator would also confirm that players can download the mansion in their own games through The Sims 4's gallery.
