The Gaia skin has returned to Call of Duty.

Activision has brought back the Gaia skin for Call of Duty, a couple months after it was removed after people complained that it was too difficult to see, thus providing an unfair advantage in Modern Warfare III and Warzone.

The Season 1 Reloaded update brings the skin back, with a pretty significant change. The new version of Gaia is much less transparent than before, which in theory should make it easier to see during the heat of battle. Check out the video below to get a look at the new version Gaia, which fans have dubbed “evil Groot” because it resembles the Marvel tree character, sort of.

The Gaia skin was removed from Call of Duty back in November 2023. The aim was to “improve the visibility,” but it’s too soon to say how fans will receive the updated version of Gaia. This was just the latest update to the Gaia skin, as it was previously updated following its debut in 2022’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

The Season 1 Reloaded update adds Ranked play, a new Rio map for Modern Warfare III multiplayer, and a superhero-themed mode inspired by Amazon’s The Boys. Unfortunately for Warzone fans, the update is very buggy.
