Description

Set in the untamed West of the late-1800s, GUN is a free-roaming action-adventure game that takes players to a world without laws where greed, lust and murder are rampant. As Colton White, a vengeful gunslinger, players must straddle the line between good and evil as they showdown against corrupt lawmen, a murderous preacher, renegade army psychopaths, merciless outlaws and unforgiving Native Americans, while waging war on horseback, collecting bounties, and commandeering trains. Players travel through an action-packed landscape of high mountain wilderness, deserts and bustling territorial towns in an epic story of betrayal, greed, and revenge. Multiple gameplay styles include: strategic gunplay and precision shooting, stealth tactics, and use of explosives. Embark on numerous side missions to master gun slinging and horse riding. Players can unlock secret weapons and upgrade skills and abilities to improve their weapon and equipment performance. [Activision]

Positive Comment(s)

The first time you take someone’s head off with a quick-draw move…you’ll be hooked. [Holiday 2005, p.76]95Official Xbox Magazine
The game is a must-play for any fan of the genre, with an excellent blend of mechanics and visuals that make it stand out from the crowd.93PGNx Media
Merges an epic, and oft-times emotional story with challenging gameplay and realistic horseback riding and mounted combat.92Game Chronicles
If this game spawns sequels and the locations and gameplay options are expanded, we could have the Wild West equivalent of the “Grand Theft Auto” series on our hands.91Console Gameworld
Gun is an immersive experience with a gripping story and intense action sequences. The side missions add to the game’s depth and make it an unforgettable experience.90Gamezilla!
Gun is such a rich, panoramic story, chock-full of sneering bad guys, shoot-outs, can-can girls and jailbreaks, you’ll wonder why no one ever thought of it before. [Official UK Xbox Magazine]90Computer and Video Games
The only drawbacks to GUN are the short story mode; the main campaign can be completed in less than six hours, and the extremely frustrating final boss.90ZTGD
If you want compelling story with dynamic gameplay, and are in the mood for some good old cowboy action; get Gun. You will not be disappointed.90Adrenaline Vault
Once you get past some of the technical issues, the game pulls you into the storyline and doesn’t let go until you’ve finished the game.88GamingTrend
A no-holds-barred, straight up western that certainly deserves a good look. The major flaw is how quick it is to finish and how easy it is to complete 100% of the tasks the game has to offer.86BonusStage

Negative Comment(s)

The storyline grows stale by the end of the game but that doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable… It’s a great purchase.75Xbox Evolved
Born on the Playstation 2, and it looks it. Muddy Textures, low detail. The large gameworld is technically impressive though.74Kombo
Gun is a fun little game of Cowboys and Indians worth checking out if you’re a fan of this era, but don’t expect more than a few hours of gameplay.70Gaming Nexus
