NetherRealm Studios, the renowned game developer, has officially announced a recent update for Mortal Kombat 1. This highly anticipated update addresses a persistent desync problem that has been severely affecting online players’ gameplay experience. With this fix, players can now enjoy smoother and more immersive online matches without having to worry about frustrating desynchronization issues. Stay tuned for the latest updates and enhancements from NetherRealm Studios as they continue to refine and optimize the Mortal Kombat gaming experience.
NetherRealm Studios reveals a new update for Mortal Kombat 1, bringing new fixes and a resolution to the recent desync issues online players have been experiencing. Following its launch last year, Mortal Kombat 1 has seen its fair share of post-launch content, both in terms of characters, outfits, seasonal updates, as well as patches. While fans have an idea of what to expect from Mortal Kombat 1 for most of 2024, NetherRealm Studios has a track record of pulling out surprises for its fans. With an expected long life for Mortal Kombat 1, there's clearly more in pipeline once Takeda finishes off the first Kombat Pack.
While not quite as exciting as new content reveals, NetherRealm has been keeping Mortal Kombat 1 updated through various patches in order to improve gameplay features and fix things which players consider pain points. In addition to tweaking features like the single player Invasions game mode, NetherRealm has kept fans up to date on future plans including making Crossplay available for MK1 on platforms like PC, Xbox Series X/S, and the PS5. As fans continue to wait for that, NetherRealm recently put out a new update to address a big concern regarding desync issues when fighting online.
Taking to the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account, NetherRealm Studios confirmed a new update for the popular fighting game, listing out all the details for what players can expect. The biggest piece of this update for many, including those competing in the Kombat League, is that the recent desync issues should now be resolved. Recently, online players would see a message after starting a match that the game session has desyncronized. NetherRealm recently put out an update intended to fix the problem, but the situation wasn't fully resolved, leading to this second update. The studio is asking for continued feedback from Mortal Kombat 1 players, in case further work needs to be done.
Alongside the desync fix, the update makes a couple of changes to Mortal Kombat 1's Invasions game mode. Specifically, one clue in particular during Invasions Season 3 called Sai-O-Nara was proving to be a bit more involved than NetherRealm likely intended. As such, the requirements to complete it have been lowered to only connecting 4 Sai Toss attacks as Mileena. First time users in Invasions have seen a fix for progression loss as well.
These fixes will no doubt please the community, though there are more than a few players who are waiting for some of the bigger features that they feel have been missing at launch. A recent Mortal Kombat 1 leak seems to hint that online lobbies could be on the way, aligning with the launch of the next DLC character with Peacemaker. Online practice, King of the Hill, and other modes have also been hinted at, though players will need to take the leaks with a grain of salt until something a bit more official is revealed.
