Discover the captivating world of Genshin Impact, overflowing with an array of fascinating characters deeply rooted in its lore. However, it’s worth noting that the latest version of this immersive game holds unsettling implications for a select group of adepti hailing from Liyue. Explore the consequences and unravel the mysteries surrounding these affected adepti within the realm of Genshin Impact.
Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact implies that Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver will likely not be playable characters – at least in the foreseeable future. Whereas Cloud Retainer is making her playable debut in Version 4.4 as Xianyun, Liyue has introduced a sizable number of adepti over the course of its Archon Quests, and many of them have since become popular in the Genshin Impact community. Though Liyue characters such as Ganyu, Xiao, and Zhongli have already given fans the ability to play as an adeptus, it's understandable that players wanted to see the roster expanded over the years.
The playable debut of Xianyun in Genshin Impact was arguably teased for over a year, when her human form made its first appearance during the Lantern Rite's cinematic. Among other things, it also featured a younger Madame Ping, Guizhong, and Zhongli. According to subsequent leaks, it seemed that the developers were planning to add both Cloud Retainer and Madame Ping to the roster of playable characters, with players hopeful that Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver would get similar treatment later on.
Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver Will Not Be Playable Adepti in Genshin Impact
Unfortunately, recently datamined NPC models from Version 4.4 suggest that Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver will likely not become playable characters in Genshin Impact. Considering how much fan art and ability kit concepts exist of Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver, this undoubtedly comes as a great blow to players who were hoping to see more Liyue adepti in the future. The models shared by ukrisreng belong to Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver, whose names have been revealed as Jiehu and Houzhang, and players can preview them on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit.
Though Madame Ping also has a generic NPC model, she is expected to take up her younger form from the Lantern Rite cinematic when she makes her debut. Since Version 4.4 is meant to be Xianyun's time in the spotlight, many Genshin Impact players are assuming that HoYoverse will release Madame Ping during next year's Lantern Rite in Version 5.4. Much like her human disciples Xiangling and Yaoyao, Ping is rumored to be a Polearm user. Despite the Hydro elements in her visual design, current leaks suggest that Madame Ping will likely use the Dendro element in Genshin Impact.
