A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more details about one of the upcoming characters named Chiori, who has already made multiple in-game appearances. The game keeps expanding the playable roster with each new update, with the Fontaine duo Navia and Chevreuse being the two most recent additions.
Since the Fontaine region arrived, Genshin Impact has introduced at least two new characters to its roster in each new update. The game's official social media accounts have already confirmed the arrival of two new playable units, Xianyun and Gaming, who are expected to arrive in the upcoming version 4.4.
Chiori made her first appearance during the Special Program event for Genshin Impact update 4.3, where she was introduced as an upcoming playable character. She is a famous fashion designer from Inazuma who currently operates the Chioriya Boutique in the Fontaine region. A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has given more details about this character's power on the field and revealed Chiori's possible Elemental Skill and Burst.

A scissor-inspired skill that deals damage to enemies in a straight line
It will have a press and a hold variation which will affect the speed of the scissor blades.
The skill can reposition enemies into a straight line
The skill will be able to generate 4-5 energy particles

It should be noted that these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt since Chiori's official release date is still a couple of months away. When it comes to her element, Chiori has been confirmed as a Geo user since she can be seen wearing a Geo Vision. This got many fans excited, considering that HoYoverse has not been introducing too many characters with this element recently. Excluding Navia, who arrived in the current update, the last Geo character to join the roster was Yun Jin back in January 2022.
As an element, Geo has been pushed out of the meta by the introduction of Dendro reactions, none of which had any decent synergy with Geo. For a very long time, the only viable five-star character in Genshin Impact with this element was the Liyue Archon Zhongli whose stacked kit made him the perfect neutral support.
When it comes to Chiori's rarity, recent leaks suggest that she will be a new five-star character. However, some players are hoping that she will be a four-star unit, available for free during the upcoming Lantern Rite Festival, which is scheduled for version 4.4. This remains highly unlikely since HoYoverse would have already introduced her splash art on their social media accounts if this were the case.
