About Hold the Keep

A 3D real-time tower defense survival game inspired by Age of Empires II's "Art of Defence" custom campaign. Build a medieval stronghold from a single resource - gold - and defend it through minutes of escalating siege.

Features

  • 9 buildings - Arrow Towers, Bombards, Castles, Walls, Markets, Town Centers, Outposts, and the University tech tree

  • 13 enemy types - from Swarmers to Battering Rams that smash through stone

  • 7 unique maps - moats, forests, river crossings, canyons, marshlands

  • Multiple difficulty modes - With tuned starting gold and enemy scaling to match your playstyle and experience

  • 7 research trees, 21 upgrades - meaningful synergies that reshape your strategy

  • 27 Steam achievements - including challenge runs (no walls, arrow-only, no research, perfect defense)

  • Mouse and keyboard support, partial controller support

Strategy depth

Place Outposts to buff nearby towers. Stack Reinforced Walls research with Fortified Foundations for 4.5x wall HP. Farm enemies with Bounty research. Or rush a Castle and hope for the best. Every match is a series of compounding economic and defensive choices.

Win condition

Survive the full timer. Lose all your Town Centers and Castles, and the realm falls.
