About Dollar Desktop Pet

Dollar is a local desktop safety companion — a friendly cat that lives on your desktop and keeps your code projects safe with a set of local, offline tools.

Works on its own — no AI, no account, no API key, no Git required:

• Restore Points (Vault) — snapshot a folder and roll back in one click.

• Secret Scan — find exposed keys before you commit or share. Findings are redacted.

• Project Health Check — a quick read-only pre-flight on your project.

• Safety Sandbox — see a command's local risk rating (red / amber / green). Nothing is executed.

• System vitals and a local ledger — handy desktop readouts.

• A desktop pet — drag it, pet it, get gentle notifications.

Optional — connect an AI coding agent you already use:

Run a compatible, locally-installed AI coding agent and Dollar can supervise it live — a prompt before risky actions, automatic restore points, and a cost tally. Optional, and separate from the local tools above.

Privacy: everything runs locally. No telemetry, no project content uploaded. Dollar contains no AI of its own and needs no API key for its core features.
