Beneath Cairntír, the gods and monsters of six ancient cultures never truly disappeared. But these are not the myths as they were politely written down. Cairntír takes creatures, gods, curses, and legends drawn from real mythology and pushes them back toward horror, toward the fear of what it might actually have meant to meet one of these things alone. From the halls of a cursed Greek house, where the dead have risen to occupy rooms their bloodline abandoned generations ago. A sorceress waits on a lonely island, welcoming strangers into a home where hospitality has become something unnatural. Harpies circle storm-battered cliffs, no longer distant figures from an old story but starving, shrieking things that dive from the clouds. And deep in the underworld, a god who has already learned the cost of mercy once refuses, with total and unhurried calm, to learn it again. Enough of the old stories have become darker in the telling that you should know, before you descend, that recognizing a myth does not mean you know what is waiting for you.

Choose your culture and make the descent yourself through 60 hand-built dungeons, where the magic you wield is rooted in real mythology but the world surrounding it has been reimagined through dark fantasy and horror. Ancestor-blood passes through Deveran bloodlines. Runes are carved and sung by Drakvarr shamans. The Gaeldrim walk old druidic paths. Vandiri griots carry rite-songs older than memory. Yorenshi onmyōji bind and shapeshift kami. Hellenians call on the old gods and monsters of Greece and Rome, hunting the undead, and taking the shape of the beasts those gods once cursed mortals to become. Each tradition draws from a different mythology, and each encounters its own gods, spirits, monsters, and nightmares.

Cairntír does not simply retell old myths. It asks what those myths would feel like if you had to survive them.

Every road leads somewhere different, and no two travelers who make the descent ever come back with quite the same story.
