Defend the flame. Hold the siege.
Ashfire Keep is an action defense roguelite where every run is a different siege: pick a class, defend the keep the game is named after, and decide, wave by wave, whether to charge the enemy or reinforce the walls.
The keep under siege
Generations ago, Ashfire Keep was built around a flame that never went out. That flame is now the seal you must protect: if the keep falls, the run ends. You're the one standing between the village and the wave that's coming.
Combat and survival
Combat is direct: swing an axe in melee, fire arrows at mid-range, or hurl arcane bolts from a distance, depending on the class you pick. Every wave adds more enemies and elite variants; some rounds bring bosses that test both your positioning and what you've built.
Building and defense
Between waves — and carefully, during them too — you can raise barricades, spike traps, and archer or arcane towers around the keep. Building costs Supplies, a resource you earn by clearing waves, killing elites, or defeating bosses: how much you build and where depends on managing that resource, not an unlimited menu.
Classes and playstyles
Three classes with their own identity: the Warrior holds ground and hits hard up close with an axe, the Mage punishes from range with arcane bolts despite being fragile, and the Ranger harasses and repositions with a bow, fast and lethal at mid-range. Each has an exclusive upgrade that changes how it plays.
Progression
During a run you level up and pick upgrades from a set of choices, with different rarities and some exclusive to your class. On top of that, every run — whether your keep stands or falls — earns Renown, permanent progression that carries over between runs and unlocks upgrades and options for the next one.
Maps and difficulties
Defend Ashfire Keep in Forest Village or Snowbound Outpost, two scenarios with their own visual identity, and choose between Normal, Hard, or Nightmare depending on how much punishment you're after. Each difficulty changes enemy health, damage, and speed, plus how much you repair between waves.
Compendium
A dedicated compendium collects every upgrade in the game, so you can check what exists, what you've unlocked, and what's left — even outside of a run.
